Welcome to this new blog about the family of Van Buran Joiner. I will be assembling the information that I have gathered plus the data that members of the family have provided. This is a works in progress and any information that you have please send it to me. It might seem not important but it may be the piece of information that is needed to complete locating or connecting one or more family members.
You will probably find errors in this data from misplaced words to misplaced people. Yes I would like to know that so that I can correct the family tree. The joke has always been, is your family tree like a utility pole with no limbs or a strong white oak with many prominent limbs. Send the information to me at ehdeason@gmail.com and label it family tree data.
I have tried to develop this blog such that each child of Van Buran has their own section. Please go to all sections to check and see if you have additional information to add or change.
I use Family Tree Maker as my genealogical software combined with Ancestry.com. The files are available in digital format if you are working on your on family tree. Contact me if you have questions.
As I undertake this project I would also like to ask you to send all pictures that you have of the family members. No do not mail me the original copies but a digital copy by email if you have one. If you have a digital camera just take pictures of the pictures using natural light, no flash, and save in .jpg or .tif format. If you do not have a digital camera contact me and we will get together and make digital copies. The old saying that a picture is worth a 1000 words is correct and it is really nice to be able to see our long gone relatives. Group pictures is wanted also and identification of those in the picture would be nice.
If you have pictures and want to bring some to the October 12, 2013 reunion I will have my camera there and would be glad to take as many as possible during the reunion. No I must have some of those chicken dumpling and bread pudding so I will take out time for that.
